Who am I?
Hello, I’m Garrett a therapist, PhD candidate, and firm believer that meaningful growth happens when we feel both grounded and supported.
I hold a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisiana Monroe, where I am currently completing my doctorate. Over the course of my career, I’ve been fortunate to work across virtually every setting, from intensive residential treatment to outpatient care with individuals, couples, families, and groups of all ages. This diverse experience has shaped a core belief in my practice: “You are the expert on your own life. “ My role is not to have all the answers, but to provide a focused, safe space where your insights and strengths can be directed toward the change you seek.
Today, my clinical work is conducted virtually, offering flexibility and accessibility. At the same time, I’m excited to be building something new here in my community: therapeutic "Walk & Talk" group sessions. These cash-pay groups blend reflective discussion with easy-to-moderate local hikes, designed to help participants reconnect with themselves and find grounding in the natural world.
This outdoor component isn’t just a therapeutic method; it’s a reflection of who I am. When I’m not in session, you’ll often find me exploring trails (hiking or in my 4x4), snowboarding, camping with my family, or enjoying a good cup of coffee. I’m an avid, if forever aspiring, outdoor explorer, and I believe in the profound mental and emotional restoration that comes from time spent in nature and simple, meaningful rituals. I hope that you also enjoy the photos scattered across the website, as these are all photos that I have taken across the different places I have been or lived.
My long-term vision is deeply shared with my family. Together with my wife, also a Marriage and Family Therapist, we dream of establishing a dedicated local practice and, eventually, a couples retreat center. Our young daughter is already our favorite adventure buddy, reminding us daily of the importance of presence, play, and connection.
For now, I’m committed to meeting clients where they are—whether that’s through the screen in a virtual session, or side-by-side on a path through the woods.
